Thank you for the reply, I have had this issue on several batches. The batches work fine for a while for a while, then seem to lock me out. I deleted the batch and re-entered it and was able to enter the fertile amount. I'm using v0.90.3. Thank you for quick response and I will watch for that should it happen again. Thank you so much Michael Rossik Buzzards Bay Quail
Hello Michael. Thanks for contacting. What version of HatchKeeper are you running? Is this the case for just one batch or all batches? Can you edit any existing batches? If its only on one batch, you might have enabled the Adavanced Panel for that batch accidently. If that is the case you can disable it by using the More Actions drop-down and select Disable Advanced. Hope we can get it figured out. mill-j
Hello, I have been using Hatchkeeper for the last 5 years and have had over 60 batches recorded. My problem now is that I'm not able to enter data into the batch. Entering the batch is fine but when I need to enter the fertile egg count at lockdown, and eggs hatched, the keypad to enter the amount doesn't pop up. Please let me know how to fix this as this app is perfect for what I need. Thank you very much Michael Rossik Buzzards Bay Quail Massachusetts
Hello! thanks for your suggestions. It shouldn't be too hard to add the Days/Months/Years ago feature once hatched. That idea has never crossed my mind before but it definitely makes sense to me. I'll create a ticket for the next release. As far as checkpoints: So far I haven't really been wanting to add poultry management to this app. I like no frills apps that are simple and straight to the point. Ones that do one job and do it well. Adding poultry management opens an even bigger can of worms....
I would appreciate having an additional field to mark “Quitters” in the batch statistics. When I pull an egg from the incubator it would be nice to track only eggs remaining before lockdown/hatch. Amber B. 😊
Related to this, on the batch page it would be nice to, following Day 21 of 21, have 8 days ago or 4 weeks ago or 6 months ago added. I use age to figure out when to move birds up from small brood to larger to an adult coop. I usually have to go into dates to see when they hatched and then do the math. Putting the info on the batch screen also makes it easier to see which batches hatched. One could even put text that says 12 days remaining or Locked down for unhatched batches. Not related it might...

Advanced Setting only let's me edit 6 eggs
Hey thanks for contacting. We have several threads in the discussion section. Basically you scroll vertically instead of horizontally like in previous versions. Think of it as an egg carton and you can only see one row of 6 eggs scroll up or down to see other rows. Thanks
Advanced Setting only let's me edit 6 eggs
I am unsure what all would be involved. Syncing data can become fairly complicated if several users are editing at the same time. Who's changes get overwritten and who's changes stay. However, if you are interested in implementing this, the source is available in a git repo, I'd be happy to help where I can.
if you wanted syncing database you can use a simple at home nas or smdb share and the app and pc could just sync to the database in the share. would that be too hard to implement?
Hello Ashley. Thanks for contacting. The lastest update changed the egg scrolling from horizontal to vertical. Think of it like eggs in an egg carton: 6 per row. Hope this help. Sorry for the confusion. mill-j
Using the updated app for android, I have a batch with 7 eggs in it. I am able to select and input information for 6 eggs. However, there is no way to identify the 7th egg. ETA- I failed to read through the other bug reports before submitting. In another post I see that I should be able to scroll to find additional eggs. However, when I swipe where the eggs are located on the screen, it takes me back to the main batch screen.
Using the updated app for android, I have a batch with 7 eggs in it. I am able to select and input information for 6 ehgs. However, there is no way to identify the 7th egg. Any thoughts? Attachment 1 shows that 7 eggs are includednin the batch. Attachment 2 is all that i can see in advanced settings, i.e. only 6 eggs.
Oh my goodness! Thank you!!! I feel a bit stupid for not even trying that, but I live the vertical scroll much more than the horizontal. Thank you, again.
Thanks for contacting. The behavior of the egg list was changed in this update due to CSS restrictions on some web browsers. The eggs are now listed in quantities of 6 and scroll vertically. Simply swipe up or down to see the other eggs in the batch. Sorry for the confusion. mill-j
Ever since an update to Hatchkeepers, advanced shows no more than six eggs for data input. Any thoughts as to what is going on? It is version 0.90 for Hatchkeepers on an android that is now running Android 13, but the issue began prior to the Android update.

That would certainly be nice. Currently HatchKeeper is completely offline. So adding that would require a server somewhere. This would add another layer of cost, security vulnerability, and mantainance to an app that has never generated a single penny . That said, I have had a working proof of concept PHP port of HatchKeeper running on a server already. Very basic, but it worked. Maybe in the future if I find time, I'll revisit HatchKeeper-Server again.
It would be great to have a way to sycronize your database across multiple devices. We're looking to implement something that can be used by multiple users simultaneously.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I do not see these comments as negative. I'm glad somebody is using/testing it and reporting bugs. Although there are thousands of HatchKeeper users, few mentioned using the Advanced egg features. I still use Windows 7 for building HatchKeeper, so it should run just fine on that. I do almost all my development on Linux. I'm definitely still working on improving HatchKeeper when I get free time. See https://sourceforge.net/p/hatchkeeper/code/ci/master/tree/ Dates/reports...
G'day Mill J, Please note that I am noting stuff as I notice it. Some of it will be nit picking. Whilst I hope it is of use to you, I do not think my comments necessarily would be of any benefit left on a public discussion forum as they may be misinterpreted as negative. I like what I see and would like to use it and would like you to be encouraged to keep improving it. I am using HatchKeeper 0.80.0 on Windows 7. Yeah, a bit dated. I found the Tag drop downs were not updated until I selected an egg....
Thank you for the feedback. Are you using HatchKeeper or HatchKeeper-Mobile? In theory the tag dropdowns should be cleared to when the dialog is open/closed, or batch is unselcted/selected. Once any egg is selected, there will always be one selected until you close/reopen the dialog or unselect/select a batch. As far as keeping track of humidity and temps. Check out the the batch>egg>day comments. You can add comments for every batch, every egg in that batch, and every day for every egg. Just select...
Just started looking at this. Looks good so far! Whoo-hoo! I just figured why I was having trouble updating the Tags. After changing the Options in Settings, it was not changing the Tag contents in the drop downs. I needed to make the changes, close the Settings, select a Batch, then select an egg, then it updated! It had me going for a while, I was making changes and trying to browse the drop downs straight away. If it is an easy change to update the drop downs as soon as you look at them, that...
