I use both HandyNotes (great tool!) and the Windows
XP PowerTool called TaskSwitch (available as a
download from MS) with which Alt-Tab gets you a list of
current applications, and you can tab among them to
select the next one you want to open. If you use
TaskSwitch to select HandyNotes, or if you merely tab
over HandyNotes to select another application, then you
can no longer get the focus into the HandyNotes
window. Right-click on the tray icon gets an answer
from HandyNotes, and "Open HandyNotes" raises
HandyNotes, but you still can't get focus. You can exit
from the tray icon, and after restarting HandyNotes, it
works fine, until the next time you try to select it with
TaskSwitch or tab over it within TaskSwitch.

To reproduce:

Start TaskSwitch (download from Microsoft)
Start HandyNotes
Start another application or two
Open HandyNotes (so that it is in the task bar)
Alt-Tab (to wake up TaskSwitch)
Do one of either:
Select HandyNotes using TaskSwitch
Select an application after tabbing over the
HandyNotes icon within TaskSwitch

If you do not tab over the HandyNotes icon within
TaskSwitch (because HandyNotes is farther down the
task list) then the problem does not appear.
