Well in the modern internet the general view is that everything should be encrypted to defend against attacks that are simple to implement and to encourage the use of certificates provided by organisations such as LetsEncrypt. I suppose that anything that hides potentially sensitive information is "a good thing"[tm]. Currently Firefox does permit an http:// link to be followed after clicking through a warning, but there will probably come a time when it will no longer do so. I don't know when this will happen, but it's bound to be on the horizon. -- Brian G8SEZ |
