Huh?

That should most definitely NOT be required of the generated tarballs
EVER.  If it is, I consider that a serious bug and really need more
information.  In all my testing over the years I've not found this to be
the case, but I can't be everywhere on every system.

If you think this is required in the future, then please don't just
carry on, copy all of the output into a message and post it.
