I agree too

WRT a feature roadmap, I would like to see
* the Python bindings mostly complete and the other languages at least
working for some basic functionality such as set/get frequency (some
time before 5.0)
* the tests that currently use the Dummy devices working also with the
simulators (and with real hardware where it makes sense)
* the work done by George for the cache
* the work done by George for thread safety (is it finished?)
