[Hamlib-developer] --civaddr important?

Hi folks.


Is the civadddr switch of any use? currently I just connected to my Icom 
706mkIIg using only the serial port file from /dev/serial/by-id/...

There is a civ address setting in my transceivers menu. Is it of any 
help to also provide it, or is this optional?
