I have made some progress... there is a freeware Windows Program called E= VE=20 which captures the clone data. I have found that you are correct in=20 suspecting that the (comercial) AMDS software does exactly as you suggest= =2E I have borrowed a cable from my father (also a ham) and I am about to sta= rt=20 the laborious (but fun) task of comparing various dumps from my radio to=20 identify the "bits".
