The default rate in Hamlib will be the slowest rate of the rig's baud range. That's one setting operators are expected to know how to set and read. The main problem is that other software like WSJT-X and such have no idea of default baud rates either. I have noticed that the default baud rate that rigctl expects is not the case. Or I need to specify the rate on load. I believe that 4800 is the default on the FT-818 and the FT-991A. I don't mind having to stating it on the command line. However, trying to navigate the manual suggests to me that such discrepancies exist. For example, for the FT-991A both the antenna sockets are of M type and where with the problems I had with a used 991A where I thought the previous owner had used anATAS antenna. The manual suggested that was set up in menu 143, when it is actually 141. It is a shame that such errors are published and makes it difficult for people like developers. Perhaps, Hamlib does not take it's defaults from such publications. Anyway, I just thought I would make that observation known. 73 Georgina Call: M0EBP DMR ID: 2346259 Allstar: 52178 Locater: IO83PS _______________________________________________ Hamlib-developer mailing list Ham...@li... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hamlib-developer |
