Hello All, Apologies if my request is off topic for this list. I am looking for a resource that explains rigctl a little more than the man page. As I am a blind ham and seem to like radios that do not have suitable accessibility. I realised some time ago that using rigctl is just so comfortable for me. I looked at the dump_caps for 1035 i.e. FT-991. While I understand a lot of the commands I do not understand all of them. I understand that rigctl is designed as a back end and developers of front ends only need to understand the structure. But I have used the linux command line for many years, I am at home to use it as a front end. I am struggling to read the Yaesu document on the cat command set partly because the tables don't appear to have column headers. As well as my screen reader crashes when reading a continuous string of the letter "o". So I can't explore beyond the hamlib support for my radios. Which is enough for now. While I can set frequency and appropriate tones and modes etc. I don't understand the palm, function and power settings. I see from my dump that scan is not supported so thought I'd be able to write a script to do this but this would require me understand Yaesu's cat command set. I have managed to get the USB driver working on Windows but I'd prefer to use my Mac which is not working for my 991A but works very well for my FT-818. Please could I be pointed in the right direction? Even if you could point me to the files in the hamlib source that rigctl validates as a true entry. I'd be most grateful. Thank you.
