The existing Flex 6500 uses ID 905.

This is failing using WSJT-X 1.80. I remember there being issues with the Flex 6300 requiring WSJX-X to update the Hamlib library in the code.

I request the new models be added to Hamlib under the Flex 6xxx series radios.

The Flex software has the ability to log the traffic on the communication port between the radio and the WSJT application.  We can see the CAT commands and the replies going by.  We have this ability on all of the ports whether they are TCP or COM.



When WSJT is configured to operate “Flex 6000” and when the attached radio is a 6500, we can see the CAT traffic streaming by and the system operates normally.  When the radio is switched out to a Flex 6600, the WSJT system does not operate.  I see the “ID” command go down to the radio and the radio replies with the “ID909” response.  There is a short pause, the cycle repeats twice over the next few seconds, and then WSJT declares that it can’t operate the radio and opens the “reconfigure radio” dialog.  To me that looks like Hamlib saying “What radio is this?” and the radio replies with Flex 6600.  Hamlib says, “don’t know that radio, retry”.  After three attempts, it declares an error and returns to WSJT.

I am working on obtaining the ID for the other 3 models.



Once the new radios are added to Hamlib I can contact authors of WSJT-X to have them update the Hamlib software to include the new radios.
