Hello! My first message here, please excuse a complete newbie question. I'm building an antenna system for ham satellite communication. Instead of using mechanical rotator I'm planning to direct antenna to the satellite manually, using Gpredictor as a guide. It would be great if Gpredictor can show actual antenna direction on its "Rotator control" window ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/hxblsvuf06s6t33/Screenshot%202017-06-25%2021.07.26.png?dl=0 , Gpredictor interfaces with rotctld for rotator control) It's very easy to get antenna direction using absolute orientation sensor like Adafruit's BNO055 and the like. There are similar sensors with USB interface out there. So the question is: is it possible to create hamlib's [psudo]rotator module, which sole purpose is to report back actual antenna position? It can accept (and silently ignore) all "set" commands and report back actual antenna position for "get" commands. How easy it would be to implement this rotator module and what module should I look for as a starting point? 73, Alex N UB3AGB |
