Thanks.  We should probably pause briefly to see who accretes to the list... but in the meantime, I'd very much appreciate some help in the Background section.  

Without being hypercritical I'm thinking it might be useful to highlight some of the things we'd like to improve over the status quo, and that's really not my area of expertise.
