Hi everyone, It seems the hamlib-developer list is more and more advertised on the web (pun intended), which is good. The bad turn is we're getting hit by spam. So I'm asking everyone if that would be a problem to change the list to a close list, allowing only subscribed persons to post? Please let me know what you think. Stephane |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I'd be happy to see the spamming stopped at the list's front door. I'm subscribed to 15-20 mailing lists with at least 5 different addresses= and=20 have no problems with using the right address for each list. IMHO we shou= ld=20 block non-member submissions. 73, Robert -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE9/QYbo4a8ramwUd8RAvNNAJsHm0QCtCqYlAgFmccb0o1oGTIWIQCeOcms VxdB9VB1bp5a/BUTQ/qQVLY=3D =3DGSUN -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Hi, I agree! There have been too many "Good news for hamlib-developer" lately and I think it would be a good idea to close the list. Heh, I will probably be the first innocent person to get blocked by the mailman, because our domain name has changed since I subscribed to the list. I'll just re-subscribe, so no problems here. You have my vote to close it, Stephane.
This has gotten out of hand especially this week and if the means exists
to stop it, then do so. I don't recall anyone posting but not being
subscribed, so I don't think our participation will be adversely
affected.

Overall, I think its a good idea to close the list. It doesn't set the bar to high (IMHO) for those who wish to post something relevant. 73s Mike KE4RJQ |

I cannot do it. Frank is supposed to, but I doubt he's still reading the list. Couple of weeks ago, I asked him to give me the administrative password. My mail seems to be lost for the second time. So I guess I will post a ticket on sourceforge to reclaim the password. I'll keep you in touch. Stephane |
