I've been following the progress of the Debianham mini distro which aims
at making a lite Linux with a logging program. TLF is a clone of TR and
Rein has been working hard on it. While a CT (my favorite) clone exists
called CX, it is not actively maintained.
Anyway, Rein has released a beta version utilizing Hamlib. I think this
speaks well of the Hamlib project as developers are taking notice. Keep
up the good work!

Subject: tlf-0.7.0 beta with hamlib-1.3.1 support !!
X-Mailer: KMail [version 1.2]
Hello All,
Despite the nice weather of the last days I have now a version running
with hamlib-1.3.1 support, which means that the rig control functions of tlf
can now (hopefully) be used with a lot of different radios !!!
I am of course very interested to know if this really works.
Well, it works flawlessly for the OMNI 6 plus. I had to do the following:
1: compile the hamlib-1.3.1 package (./configure, make, make install)
2: compile tlf-0.7.0 package (./configure, make, make install)
3. as root, do (/sbin)ldconfig (libhamlib.so is in /usr/local/lib)
4. copy the new logcfg.dat version 0.7.0 into the working directory
(new commands to configure the rig ctl !!)
5. enjoy tlf (see the tlfdoc.html for rig ctrl commands(still v. 0.6.1))
Test reports pse!!!

P.S.: the new bits are: tlf-0.7.0.tar.gz
hamlib.diff (hamlib patchfor rit control of the
omni & icoms)
all on the ftp site: http://sharon.esrac.ele.tue.nl/pub/linux/ham/tlf
