This was changed to support automatic filter selection by the rig.
The IC7300 for example (and I thought the 7610 would be this way too) remembers the filter selection by mode.

Dear hamlib-developer
I am using hamlib. Thank you.
Since hamlib-w64-4.6~, the filter does not change even when I switch the
MODE of my rig (IC-7610). There is no problem with Ver4.5.5.
Is this a change in specifications? Or will it be improved in the
future?
I use Filter2 in CW, and even when I switch to SSB, it remains Filter2.
Previously, when I switched to SSB, it became Filter1.
Thank you in advance

priv should never be null unless you are calling these functions directly instead of going through the API.
But I added the patch anyways.

This is because "priv" is only going to be valid for a Rot2Prog (az/el)

My "simple" (and working) fix is just
if (priv)
{
priv->dir = 0;
}
I think this is the only place this mistake has been made; I'd offer a
patch, but I'm not confident without some background as to why this
code was fairly recently added.
