is there a trick to set a gpio pin, to kick off a raspberry pi running wsprry from wsjtx? ( or even a $3 esp8266?)

just the kick off the TX ( pi will handle a T/R relay to short the sdr and flip the 11 mw to the antenna. )

I see the rigctld PTT interface. we need no frequency, just the start signal.

thank you, Bradshaw K1TE Buzzards Bay Radio CLub, MASS WB2TEV

We are delivering 6 little $7 beacons to STEM schools along the 50 miles from Marconi's 300,000 watt TX station to his RX station in Chatam, with local hams. A method like this will allow us to kick this off while running an sdr gqrx and wsjtx on a school library PC with the antenna duct taped to the library window.

      I ordered these
      https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RNX3W9J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Supposed to be here tomorrow so I'll see  about getting them hooked into hamlib for gpio control.

Thanks, I have a dozen of a sister board, 4 wires to a si5351, then lpf and 20m dipole and I have a$9 11 mw beacon.

If we can set 3.3 v to any gpio, from Hamlib I can beautifully trigger from there.  And do a t/r transition from my sdr.  Neat!<caret></caret>

      Thank you for your help.

Are you talking about setting the gpio from the Raspberry PI?Or where exactly would hamlib be running?

I run wsjtx latest, and Garcia with an air spy discovery hf+ and have receive and bandhopping mastered o a raspberry pi 4.

I am hoping to get wsjtx (hamlib, rigctl) turn a gpio pin on, and control a second pi 3B+ to start  a wspr transmission when it sees the gpio pin go high.

It runs perfectly by time from ntp.

I will start with two 20m dipoles 100’ apart, later a t/r switch and a single 2 element wire yagi in the garage attic.

I am hoping this was an early feature of hamlib and I am simply not seeing it in the amazing work that has been done.

          Tnx bradshaw, K1te<caret></caret>

If you have a recent hamlib after  July 26 this year I did add some GPIO commands but they haven't  been tested on an RPi
            From rigctle.g.set_gpio GPIO2 1set_gpio GPIO2 0get_gpio GPIO2
            Can you test that?
