All applications using hamlib (xlog, cqrlog, tlf tested) returning the same error message:
Error my_get_mode: 5
Error my_get_freq: 8

This is indicated as protocol error. The error message appears any time if the radio is polled. Otherwise, the radio control works.

Martin, please contact the hamlib-developer mailing list with some more datails, e.g. which rig where you using.

Is this still an issue? Does the issue still exist when using the latest CVS snapshot from http://hamlib.sourceforge.net/bleeding-edge/ What radio backend do you use?

If there is no response in 30 days or so, I'll close this bug.

This bug seems solved (in hamlib-1.2.8cvs-20080621.tar.gz and above). It was a long-time bug observed with Kenwood TS-950SD and also Ten-Tec Orion. Now the cvs hamlib works fine with my Orion (on Slackware 12.1). Many thanks should go also to Martin, AA6E, who solved another bug in the Orion backend (radio # 1608.
