I try to remove keys and such as you use them. However, some keys fit multiple doors so I don't see a good way to handle removing those. So, I just make the player hold onto them instead.

I see, but they get stripped out as they move from one sub campaign to another, unless needed, correct? For example going from Pale Pass 1 to Pale Pass 2?

Yes, quest items should be removed when going to a new campaign / chapter
