1) Is the ATmega128RFA1 supported?
2) I'm trying to get things running with Ubuntu (preferred) or Windows as a development environment, but the uploader isn't configured. I've been using avrdude to upload code in the past. What is needed to get avrdude configured?
3) Is any additional documentation forthcoming?

ad 1) I guess it is supported. But all depends on avr-gcc and avrdude (and not on HaikuVM).
How do you configure this tools for ATmega128RFA1? Let me know about your configuration.
Take a look into file 'HaikuVM.properties' to see example configurations for other AVRs and then configure ATmega128RFA1 accordingly.
ad 2) Avrdude is fine! Take a look into file 'HaikuVM.properties' to see example avrdude configurations for other AVRs.
Or, alternativly, take a look into this discussion http://sourceforge.net/p/haiku-vm/discussion/general/thread/c3298729/. Here Alan configured a Gertboard in 'HaikuVM.properties' for his needs.
ad 3) Yes, more documentation is coming up. But I don't know where to begin! So, in your eyes, what specific information is missing most?
Did you saw the documentation on http://haiku-vm.sourceforge.net ?
