HA-JDBC / News: Recent posts

Version 2.0 adds the following new features: JDBC 4.0 support, support for sequences and identity columns, support for SQL locator-implemented blobs/clobs, database meta data caching, JGroups channel multiplexing, improved failure handling, improved distributable behavior, and smaller footprint.

Major new features include: a Dialect interface for defining vendor specific behavior, mbean interfaces for individual databases within a cluster, mbean methods for modifying HA-JDBC's configuration at runtime, an auto-activation scheduler, proactive failure detection, distributable locking to prevent simultaneous synchronization requests, support for XA environments, improved documentation, and many bug fixes.
The code base for HA-JDBC now requires Java 1.5. Separate Java 1.4 binaries are provided thanks to Retrotranslator.
HA-JDBC's source code repository has moved from CVS to Subversion.
