GS2 6.0.x Releases

This is the official page for the GS2 6.0 release (and any patches 6.0.x). It should not be confused with the official page for the 6.0 release candidate [releases:#1]. This page contains information about the release intended for users. Please edit this post as if it was a wiki, and don't post items underneath, unless they are strictly comments or discussion rather than information.

Releases 6.x.x are legacy releases: they contain, ideally, all the code and all the functionality that gs2 has had over the last 10 years, and should support input files going back to 2001. (Please submit bug reports if you have any problems).

The 6.0.1 release is now available.

Change Log

6.0.1 contains an urgent fix to [bugs:#46] so please update if you are using 6.0.0. Also includes patches for [bugs:#40] and [bugs:#44].

Change Log

Since there has not been a release for a very long time, it is impossible to provide a complete change log. We will summarise some of the main changes and additions here.

Timetable

As this is the first official release for a long time, it is suggested that we aim for a shorter timetable for this release: for example, three months instead of six. This would mean that we were aiming for a release on the 31st March 2015.
