Test #1 - 2016-01-07

Cardio exercises for 50 minutes. Using a music playlist. Video screen wasn't visible all the time, but that is more due to placement of the monitor than anything else.

The software did not pick up on the heartrate sensor (or if it did, it didn't display anything - I should check Google Fit see if the recorder picked up anything.) Unfortunately, I can't determine how well the zone coloring works within a workout because of this.

During playback of the video, there was some high pitched noises where it seemed to skip for a couple of milliseconds. It is definitely annoying as we are using YouTube for our soundtrack. Possible problems are:

  • Problem with the video itself.
  • Problem with threads stomping on the YouTube player.
  • Something completely different.

For the second video onwards, there were the player controls constantly on display. They would fade out and then come back again. This wasn't as distracting as I thought it would be, but it still doesn't look good.

The timer is not visible. It was difficult to tell when a minute started and ended. A couple solutions:

* Flash RED every 00.0, and ORANGE every 30.0. Thus you don't have to actually read the timer to know when to start and stop
* Use an analog watch face in the lower right hand corner (where the big zone icon is.) Perhaps combine that with the flashes.

There should be an easy way to stop the workout and check the summary.

Summary data was not available - but the feature wasn't implemented yet, so there is no big surprise there.
