I tried to run GXexplorer and it produced four errors:

"Cannot open file C:\Windows\Media\%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\Other Documents\Themes ect\Princesse Mononoke\MonDown.wav."

"An error occurred while trying to load the scrpts.
Access violation at address 0055ACBE in module 'GXExplorer.exe'. Read of address 00000000"

"Access violation at address 00556287 in module 'GXExplorer'. Read of address 0000009D."

"Access violation at address 00403DF0 in module 'GXEplorer'. Read of address 00000024."

By the time you click off the third of these messages, Gxexplorer just hangs there with the splash screen still up. When you terminate the program the fourth message appears.

I tried to change my windows theme to see if it would help, and it did (I changed it back to the XP style default- it had been set to a 95-style theme). Unfortunately, on a personal note, MS has made it nearly impossible to load any new themes into Windows XP, so dispite finding some great themes out there, I wasn't able to load them onto my system as I'm unwilling to hack my system files or pay for memory intensive add-ons. :(

i had similar messages (and many errors). I was working with a 16-bit screen mode. But when i changed to a 32-bit screen mode, it worked fine.
I think there is a bug with the screen rendering. Perhaps when you installed the theme, it changed something there, so it worked.
