[Gwt-openlayers-users] Handling unresponsive server

I just spent a few hours tracking down a problem that turned out to be 
an unresponsive WMS server at <http://labs.metacarta.com/wms-c/Basic.py>.

I was wondering if there is a way to set a timeout on WMS server 
connection when doing a "new WMS(...)" call.
Also is there a way to set a set of alternate WMS servers if the primary 
WMS server fails to respond within a set timeout?
