Is it possible to remove (inner) border from pie chart, the one that separate slices, and set outer (around pie) border to be thicker? Thanks.

I don't think so.
Highcharts only defines a borderWidth around a whole pie part: http://api.highcharts.com/highcharts#plotOptions.pie.borderWidth
