#1 Vista and Win7 compatibility

I have tested wpa supplicant gui v0.6.10 for windows on MS Vista and Win7. (Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN v12.4.1.4 2009-03-26)

OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit up-to-date 2010-01-20
Wpa_supplicant installs correctly. When trying to run wpa_gui a message shows up reporting »wpa_supplicant service is not running, do you want to start now«. If i choose yes then an error shows up »OpenService failed« »[5] Access is denied«. If the service is started manually from services.msc, wpa_gui can't get status from the service. Therefore, none of the functions are avalible.

OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit up-to-date 2010-01-20
Wpa_supplicant installs correctly. When trying to run wpa_gui a message shows up reporting »wpa_supplicant service is not running, do you want to start now«. If I choose yes, the service starts normally but the gui cannot find any networks. It is able to get some information from wireless network card like IP address if avalible. When trying to connect to a manually added network the error occurres “Association request to the driver failed”. Unable to connect to any network.

OS: Windows Vista 32-bit up-to-date 2010-01-20
Works OK. Connected to WPA2-PSK, problems with Eduroam (cannot authenticate, cannot locate certificate through gui).
