gVRflash becomes more usable (version 0.6.0)

This new release of gVRflash has an improved graphical user interface. Not only the usability has improved, the interface now also includes new artwork. These improvements should make gVRflash more appealing.

New website for project gVRflash

After a call for an icon designer, Hector Rivera Falu aka Misha offered to design a new website and the necessary icons. After a short discussion what was needed, Misha shifted into turbo mode and next day he allready released the first version.
The new website contains screenshots, a download page and a possibility to create a bugreport.

New release for gVRflash , major feature release 0.5.0

Today a new release for gVRflash has been released.

This release makes the software complete for all major features.
It is now possible to install anew romdisk or kernel.
Previously only the installation of a new kernel was supported.
Minor features like selection of serial port are scheduled for a next release.

What is gVRflash?

gVRflash is a graphical shell around vrflash, a commandline utility to install
a new kernel or romdisk onto a VR3 Agenda Handheld.
Currently gVRflash it only has a gnome gui, but it's design does support
creating other gui-frontends e.g. KDE. A KDE gui-frontend is not expected

gVRflash reaches 0.2.0 milestone

This milestone makes the backend feature complete, and ready for the next major release.
This release also includes rpm-packages for the first time. For this purpose there are also vrflash rpm-packages available from the download location.

gVRflash project gets its first website

The new website includes some screenshots. For best source for other information is still found on the project page on Sourceforge.

Next bug release for gVRflash (version 0.1.1)

This release (version 0.1.1) has solved the unresponsiveness of the gui when a flash operation was in progress.
And a another small issue has been solved, with this release it is no longer possible to start another installation and confuse the application.

First release of gVRflash (version 0.1.0)

This release is capable of installing a new kernel onto the Agenda VR3.
Other features, like the ability to install a romdisk are planned for future versions.
This version is the very first release for this project, so it is expected many bugs will surface and be fixed before the next release.
If you own an Agenda VR3 we welcome you to try out this little utility. But we do also recommend you to protect your bootloader (pmon) by making its memory regions write-protected.... read more

Nearing first release (version 0.1.0)

Today the utility was able to successfully install a kernel onto the Agenda VR3.
This means the project is nearing the version 0.1 milestone. Proper error handling has not yet been implemented, and some gui polish is needed.
The first release is expected by the end of this weekend.
