I was just trying to download a youtube video the other day and realsed they had changed things on me. This is a small release to allow you to update your current version of GVDownloader to support these sites again!

Sorry it took so long to update, but no one had actually send me an email/post in the forumn saying that they were not working anymore!

For new users - download and install the latest version of GVDownloader and then install this plugin update over the top!

This has been a big release for me. i have started to support my wider goal and create a really powerful generic downloader.

Part of this vision was the addition of a new Internet Explorer Plugin! Now all you need to do is browse to a website and click the download button to launch the URL to GVDownloader. It is as simple as that!

Just some news to say that i am franticially working on the new release. So far i have added 5 new websites;

Along with a generic downloader which can work with any site that has an embedded windows media player.

The internet explorer plugin is comming along well also. It sits inside your toolbar and with a click of a button, launch GVDownloader and attempt to download any embedded content. Its simple at the moment without much intelligence, but i think it will fill the gap and make the software easier to use.... read more

I have seen alot more people comming through and using the gvdownloader. this is great to see.

I really need some input though. I need to know the good and bad points of the software.
Version 2.0 is comming along well. Ive added plugin support so anyone can develop support for other embedded movie/flash/content download sites implemented a youtube and break.com support.

I am also considering adding an internet explorer plugin, so u can just visit the page and then click a button, and the movie / content will download with a blink of an eye. Does this sound useful?

Sorry guys, my fault. Has a few bugs which appeared on complilation of the setup package. i'll know better next time!

This is a big step in the evolution of Google Video Downloader. GVD now supports resuming of video downloads! This is the only client which does so! Along with file size estimation and muiltiple similtanious download support, the GUI has been vastly improved and updated to give the user more power.

The next release will be v2.0.0 and will start supporting new sitesm such as ifilm as well as a generic embedded content downloader!... read more

Ive been wroking hard the last few days.
Muiltiple downloads is now working, just need to complete some more testing.

Im also in the process of implementing resume download to make things easier for dialup'ers and downloading large files.

Lastly i am working on a new plugin system to support other video hosting sites, such as streetfire, ifilm, break.com and more.

Ive been working on the muiltiple simultanious download client today, and this release is a by-product. Expect the next release within the next few days!

To the end users, there isnt much difference in this version compared to 1.1.0. You will notice a little more speed but the main addition is an installed to automatially setup everything for you.

It didnt take long.

Fixed a few bugs and added some minor/cosmetic functionality. Most of the changes in this release is in the code-base to facilitate muiltple file downloads. I will hopefully have this feature implemented within the week.
Defaintly upgrade though!

I spent most of the night recoding alot of the GVD. I orinally made it as a throw-away type deal and it really reflected in my code. It now looks alot nicer. Another by-product of this re-coding is the GUI is now ready to support muiltple similtanious downloads. All i need to work out is how i want to display them! This is a good thing because i really dont like the way IE handles downloads and ive found i am just spawning a heep of instances of GVD as a solution.... read more

Ive noticed lately during my usual web surfing, that alot of content is embedded into websites these days. Movies are bandwidth intensive and its so hard to save a copy of that funny movie you found. I think this will be the direction that i will be heading with GVD, a custmisiable content downloader which you can point to any HTML document and it will list movie/flash content so you can download and save them for future use.... read more

The inital release of GVDownloader(1.0.0) is now availible from the downloads section. The release seems to be stable and achieves its purpose well. Check it out and let me know of any features that would be handy!
