[GUSDEV] ant problem on install?

When I run:

build GUS install -append -installDBSchema

I immediately get:
 ant [options] [target [target2 [target3] ...]]

and then 'build' terminates

I couldn't find anything in the list archives with this output. Is there a
better way to search for this in the archives for future reference?

I installed Ant myself, so this could very likely be the problem.
