Ok:
DbiDsn should be:
DbiDsn=dbi:Pg:dbname=myfirst
Try that and see if it works.

I forgot to post my reply to Mike on the mailing list yesterday,
after the problem getting solved. I think it may be of a little help
to others later in dealing with similar problems. so here it goes:

help very much.

so my problem ended up being solved by changing to this line
DbiDsn=dbi:Pg:dbname=myfirst for the DbiDsn setting in gus.config file.
I would also like to thank Sanjeev for responding to my message and
provided a lot of suggestions.
