It is supposed to work, but it got messed up in the shift over to a
modular kernel as that assumed the existence of depmod on the compile
You can compile it with "make DEPMOD=true", but you won't get the
module dependencies to correctly boot the GS. I'm working to fix this
on the scudderfish branch by running depmod on the GS at boot time (and
load arbitrary modules), but I'm running into some problems with kernel
symbols. If you know anything about linux kernel symbols I'd be glad
to hear from you.
