Hello, I have a Gumstix pack containing a Chestnut43 board with an Overo Fire COM. I've updated it to Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) per some docs on the web, and have it mostly working pretty well (LCD, external keyboard & mouse, ethernet, etc). However, I've found that I can only seem to recognize USB devices plugged into the mini-AB USB OTG port (via an external powered hub), but not the built-in USB standard-A "host" port which the Chestnut43 provides. Plugging the exact same powered USB hub into the "HOST" port does not let me see the connected peripherals. Is there a fix for that? I really need to access two USB devices at one time, but preferably without recourse to a powered USB hub, and therefore need both the OTG and HOST ports operative. When I run "sudo lsusb", this is what I see: Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 005: ID 090c:1000 Feiya Technology Corp. Flash Drive Bus 001 Device 004: ID 045e:0737 Microsoft Corp. Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04d9:1503 Holtek Semiconductor, Inc. Shortboard Lefty Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05e3:0608 Genesys Logic, Inc. USB-2.0 4-Port HUB Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub I'm assuming that all of the Bus 001 connections are through the OTG port, in part because I can my USB flash drive plugged in on that bus. I therefore assume that the 2.0 root hub listed on Bus 002 represents the "HOST" standard-A connector. This is the verbose report for that device: Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.00 bDeviceClass 9 Hub bDeviceSubClass 0 Unused bDeviceProtocol 0 Full speed (or root) hub bMaxPacketSize0 64 idVendor 0x1d6b Linux Foundation idProduct 0x0002 2.0 root hub bcdDevice 2.06 iManufacturer 3 Linux 2.6.35 ehci_hcd iProduct 2 OMAP-EHCI Host Controller iSerial 1 ehci-omap.0 bNumConfigurations 1 Configuration Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 2 wTotalLength 25 bNumInterfaces 1 bConfigurationValue 1 iConfiguration 0 bmAttributes 0xe0 Self Powered Remote Wakeup MaxPower 0mA Interface Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 4 bInterfaceNumber 0 bAlternateSetting 0 bNumEndpoints 1 bInterfaceClass 9 Hub bInterfaceSubClass 0 Unused bInterfaceProtocol 0 Full speed (or root) hub iInterface 0 Endpoint Descriptor: bLength 7 bDescriptorType 5 bEndpointAddress 0x81 EP 1 IN bmAttributes 3 Transfer Type Interrupt Synch Type None Usage Type Data wMaxPacketSize 0x0004 1x 4 bytes bInterval 12 Hub Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 41 nNbrPorts 3 wHubCharacteristic 0x0009 Per-port power switching Per-port overcurrent protection bPwrOn2PwrGood 10 * 2 milli seconds bHubContrCurrent 0 milli Ampere DeviceRemovable 0x00 PortPwrCtrlMask 0xff Hub Port Status: Port 1: 0000.0100 power Port 2: 0000.0100 power Port 3: 0000.0100 power Device Status: 0x0003 Self Powered Remote Wakeup Enabled Thanks for any suggestions you may provide, Mark Zieg Ocean Optics OEM ******************************************************** The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
