It will come up after a reboot if I manually brought it up before the reboot, but not after power has been removed and reinserted. To remedy the problem I had to put in a script that runs late at start up that executes /etc/init.d/networking restart Ben On Sun, Jan 30, 2011 at 7:46 PM, David George <da...@ha...> wrote: > If you aren't using NetworkManager, the proper way to automatically > startup ethernet is to modify /etc/network/interfaces. > > For DHCP it would look something like: > > auto eth0 > iface eth0 inet dhcp > > Or you can set a static IP with something like: > > auto eth0 > iface eth0 inet static > address 10.0.0.1 > netmask 255.255.255.0 > gateway 10.0.0.254 > > > On 1/30/2011 10:51 AM, William Pretty Security Inc wrote: > > I have a Tobi board and a Gumstix overo Earth connected to my in-house > LAN. > > There is internet access via the LAN.
