[Gumstix-users] Creating custom image for Gumstix Overo air

Hi,

I am trying for find information on how to build a custom image for
Gumstix Overo air. I have followed instructions from the below link to
build environment.

Also, I found a link(below) on how to build custom image. However, it is
for verdex pro and not for overo air..

Can anyone please let me know the steps on how to build a custom image for
gumstix overo air?

Hi Vishwanath,

A recipe that I'm using for Overo looks something like this:
+++++++++++++++++++++
inherit image

DEPENDS = "task-boot"

IMAGE_FSTYPE = "tar.bz2"
IMAGE_LINGUAS = ""

IMAGE_INSTALL += " \
  task-boot \
  overo-writeprom \
...other packages here...
"
+++++++++++++++++++++

You may also find the IMAGE_PREPROCESS_COMMAND and
ROOTFS_POSTPROCESS_COMMAND explained in the OE User Manual
(http://docs.openembedded.org/usermanual/usermanual.html) helpful.

Like the other page you linked, it is written with Verdex in mind but
really, the differences amount to some variables and path changes as
well as 'ipkg' becoming 'opkg':
