Dear Gumstix Users, I am having trouble getting a Belkin F5U409 serial-to-USB converter to work with my Overo Air. I am using a Tobi expansion board, which provides a USB host connector. When I plug the Belkin converter in, the Overo displays the following message: hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 After this, the Overo no longer responds when USB devices are connected and disconnected. A friend more knowledgeable in Linux than me suggested I try starting the USB serial modules. I rebooted, then did this: root@overo:~# modprobe belkin_sa usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial USB Serial support registered for generic usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic usbserial: USB Serial Driver core USB Serial support registered for Belkin / Peracom / GoHubs USB Serial Adapter usbcore: registered new interface driver belkin belkin_sa: v1.2:USB Belkin Serial converter driver No luck, the "unable to enumerate" message still appears. Again, the Overo stopped responding to USB devices connected and disconnected. Here is dmesg output after loading the serial modules, and connecting the Belkin device: usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial USB Serial support registered for generic usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial_generic usbserial: USB Serial Driver core USB Serial support registered for Belkin / Peracom / GoHubs USB Serial Adapter usbcore: registered new interface driver belkin belkin_sa: v1.2:USB Belkin Serial converter driver usb usb2: usb resume ehci-omap ehci-omap.0: resume root hub hub 2-0:1.0: hub_resume ehci-omap ehci-omap.0: GetStatus port 2 status 001803 POWER sig=j CSC CONNECT hub 2-0:1.0: port 2: status 0501 change 0001 hub 2-0:1.0: state 7 ports 3 chg 0004 evt 0000 hub 2-0:1.0: port 2, status 0501, change 0000, 480 Mb/s ehci-omap ehci-omap.0: port 2 full speed --> companion ehci-omap ehci-omap.0: GetStatus port 2 status 003801 POWER OWNER sig=j CONNECT hub 2-0:1.0: port 2 not reset yet, waiting 50ms ehci-omap ehci-omap.0: GetStatus port 2 status 003002 POWER OWNER sig=se0 CSC hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 hub 2-0:1.0: state 7 ports 3 chg 0000 evt 0004 hub 2-0:1.0: hub_suspend usb usb2: bus auto-suspend ehci-omap ehci-omap.0: suspend root hub Has anyone else had this problem? It was mentioned to me that the GPIO configuration might be connected to this issue. Is this possible? I am using the kernel 2.6.32 and filesystem image that shipped on the Overo. It was shipped a few weeks ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Markus. |
