Hi, I am having troubles setting up the WiFi on Overo Fire.I tried various images.The first two are from sakoman(a and b) a)200907012200/ 02-Jul-2009 14:11 b)200907261233/ 27-Jul-2009 07:09 c)beta-2.img.bz2 17-Nov-2008 11:17 60.4M The WiFi is not working for any one of them.However I get the wifi interface to atleast recognise the SSID's by the command 'iwlist wlan0 scan'.I have looked at many solutions in the forum but none of them work for me . My /etc/network/interfaces file looks like the one below. /etc/network/interfaces -- configuration file for ifup(8), ifdown(8) # The loopback interface # auto lo iface lo inet loopback # # Wired interfaces # #auto eth0 #iface eth0 inet dhcp #iface eth1 inet dhcp # # Wireless interfaces # # Example of an unencrypted (no WEP or WPA) wireless connection # that connects to any available access point: # #allow-hotplug wlan0 #iface wlan0 inet dhcp # wireless_mode managed # wireless_essid any # Example of an unencrypted (no WEP or WPA) wireless connection # that is locked to a specific access point: # #allow-hotplug wlan0 #iface wlan0 inet dhcp # wireless_mode managed # wireless-essid kuchbhi # Example of a WEP encrypted connection locked to a specific access point: # #iface wlan0 inet dhcp # pre-up /sbin/iwconfig $IFACE key 03AB30A4EF8A71A4781DA1CB84 key open essid gumstixnet txpower 100mW # Example of a WPA1 or WPA2 encrypted connection locked to a specific access point. # # You will also need to create a /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf file: # Copy / paste the results of this command into that file : # wpa_passphrase myssid mypasswordhere # allow-hotplug wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp # pre-up wpa_supplicant -Dmarvell -iwlan0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -Bw pre-up wpa_supplicant -Dwext -iwlan0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -B # down killall wpa_supplicant # Ethernet/RNDIS gadget (g_ether) # ... or on host side, usbnet and random hwaddr iface usb0 inet static address 192.168.0.202 netmask 255.255.255.0 network 192.168.0.0 gateway 192.168.0.200 # Bluetooth networking iface bnep0 inet dhc ********************************************************The Output************************************ root@overo:/etc/network# ifconfig -v lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:24 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:24 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:1728 (1.6 KiB) TX bytes:1728 (1.6 KiB) wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:19:88:20:73:60 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) wlan0:avahi Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:19:88:20:73:60 inet addr:169.254.6.54 Bcast:169.254.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 Any Help will be much appreciated .
