Okay, I can answer half of my own question and still have a query remaining.
After digging really deeply into the TI manuals it seems GPIO127 can
also be an internal temperature sensor for the OMAP die. But it has
some odd restrictions. If it is selected to sense temperature the the
GPIO function is disabled and the pin become unusable. And the
opposite is also true, if it is selected as a GPIO function then the
temp sensing is disabled.
However, that still leaves an open question. Is the SDRAM temp sensor
ball connected to a GPIO on the OMAP chip? If so, which GPIO? Trying
to use a multimeter to trace the track is impossible with the POP/BGA
