Hi All, I am having some challenge in configuring an IP address for my bluetooth device so that i can ssh over it. Presently i can connect to gumstix over the serial interface using bluetooth connection. The present status of HCI device on gumstix gives this: root@gumstix-custom-verdex:~$ *hciconfig -a* hci0: Type: UART BD Address: 00:80:37:2E:27:2C ACL MTU: 339:11 SCO MTU: 93:14 UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN RX bytes:981 acl:0 sco:0 events:24 errors:0 TX bytes:370 acl:0 sco:0 commands:24 errors:0 Features: 0xff 0xff 0x8f 0xfe 0x9b 0xf9 0x00 0x80 Packet type: DM1 DM3 DM5 DH1 DH3 DH5 HV1 HV2 HV3 Link policy: RSWITCH HOLD SNIFF PARK Link mode: SLAVE ACCEPT Name: 'Gumstix (0)' Class: 0x000116 Service Classes: Unspecified Device Class: Computer, Palm HCI Ver: 2.0 (0x3) HCI Rev: 0x62b9 LMP Ver: 2.0 (0x3) LMP Subver: 0x62b9 Manufacturer: Infineon Technologies AG (9) root@gumstix-custom-verdex:~$ *hciconfig up* hci0: Type: UART BD Address: 00:80:37:2E:27:2C ACL MTU: 339:11 SCO MTU: 93:14 UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN RX bytes:1261 acl:0 sco:0 events:27 errors:0 TX bytes:382 acl:0 sco:0 commands:27 errors:0 root@gumstix-custom-verdex:~$ *tail -13 /etc/network/interfaces * # Bluetooth networking auto bnep0 #iface bnep0 inet dhcp iface bnep0 inet static address 192.168.7.3 #gumstix bluetooth ip netmask 255.255.255.0 network 192.168.7.0 broadcast 192.168.7.255 root@gumstix-custom-verdex:~$ *ifup bnep0* SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device bnep0 No such device SIOCSIFADDR: No such device root@gumstix-custom-verdex:~$ *uname -a* Linux gumstix-custom-verdex 2.6.21 #1 Wed Mar 5 19:50:54 CST 2008 armv5tel unknown Those are the present status and configuration of the gumstix. *The question now is how do i bring up the bnep0 interface and get a TCP/IP connection over bluetooth??* I have done thorough internet serch of this problem and gone through links like: http://www.nabble.com/Bluetooth-help-td16372083.html http://docwiki.gumstix.org/index.php/LinuxBluetooth etc.. I would appreciate contributions that can helkp in solving this problem. Regards |
