I am using buildroot r1539. I modified one of your c programs (see attached=
) so that I could test the functions you committed to r1538. I am getting t=
he following error:

# modprobe i2c-dev

I realized that I forgot to add the prototypes to i2c-api.h, so I just
added that as well (rev 1358)
