Doh! I misremembered. I had to choose V4L1 in order to get the broad selection of webcam drivers...and I am using the V4L1 version of gspca. I compiled spcacat from Michael Xhaard's spcaview package and it works fine with the gspca driver. Now some things are starting to become clear! The linux-uvc driver is for V4L2, I think that xawtv is for v4l2 but the web site isn't explicit, camE doesn't even mention v4l, the "motion" website doesn't state a requirement for v4l....and so on. I'm getting confused on the v4l1 vs. v4l2 issue. Is it a "try it and see" world? James > Christopher, > > I've noticed no odd behavior. > > I'm using a powered USB hub.
