Sorry for all the emails to myself... I think I figured out a good setup, so I'll share with anyone who is interested in doing a similar thing... I ended up going with scp/ssh using a public key, here is what I did On the gumstix: #mkdir /root/.ssh On the PC: 1. $ssh-keygen -t rsa 2. Hit enter when it asks for a passphrase... note that this means that if anyone has access to your computer, they will be able to totally trash your gumstix files.. however this means you won't need a password when ssh'ing to the gumstix 3. $scp ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub root@IP_OF_GUMSTIX:/root/.ssh/authorized_keys Now you should be able to do $ssh root@IP_OF_GUMSTIX and it will log you right in! -Kevin On 5/6/06, Kevin Worth <kw...@gm...> wrote: > On second thought- perhaps I will just pose this question... > > I'm looking for a method to transferring files automatically between > the gumstix and another computer over the network.
