Hi Rick, > I hope these aren't RTFM questions, but here goes: > > - What's the max baud rate I can get on the serial connection between my > connex and my robostix? I'm currently running 115200 and it works nicely; > can it go faster? The STUART port is listed as having a max baud of 230K baud. I don't know how well the robostix will do because the crystal frequency is wrong. You might be able to get faster comms by picking an oddball frequency (like 200k baud) since this would be an exact submultiple of the 16 MHz crystal. I think that this would require customizations on the kernel driver side. > - What's the practical upper limit on i2c throughput between connex and > robostix? I'm running i2c at 100 kHz right now. In theory it can do 400 kHz. I'll probably test that once the i2c boot loader is delivered. > - How fast can I push data across the Bluetooth link, using BNEP? I think the attach speed is the speed that the UART is running at. That's the absolute max that you could achieve (and due to overheads probably isn't actually achievable). Actual throughput would depend on signal quality and other factors. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |
