[Gumstix-users] microwindows help

Hi all, 

Since there doesn't seem to be too much info in the
archives regarding microwindows, I think I'll go ahead
and break the ice. 

I get these errors when using nano-X:

# nano-X
KDGKMODE: Invalid argument
Cannot initialise keyboard

I thought changing the KBDTTY=N to Y (and SCANKB=Y to
N)  and ARCH = LINUX-NATIVE to ARCH = LINUX-ARM in the
config file would help, but it ends up saying that it
cannot find arm-linux-gcc =/ 

So my questions are: 
"KDGKMODE: Invalid argument"
"Cannot initialise keyboard"
-What do these mean? 

-What do I need to do to get it to recognize the
arm-gcc. Do i move it to the staging_dir?

Add the directory containing arm-linux-gcc to your PATH. In
particular, this directory:

/...prefix.../gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/staging_dir/bin

Replace ...prefix... as appropriate for your machine.

A way would be e.g. export
PATH="$PATH:/..prefix/gumstix-buildroot/build_arm_nofpu/staging_dir/bin"

with ..prefix substituted appropriately.

That will preserve the old path, only adding the new required element(s).

Out of topic, but right now, out of nowhere I just remembered a day,
many, many years a go, where I was doing something like that on M$-DOS
(playing with PATH variable in a quite similar way and probably for
quite similar purposes [using a compiler]). I'm not sure what triggers
those memories, but our brain is certainly a crazy thing of it's own.
