The ugliest part of connecting the hirose backwards is that pin 60 (GND) ends up in the location of pin 30 (V_BATT), so if you're powering the gumstix from the buddy board, you'll be sticking 5V on the gumstix where it's not wanted. Actually, many of the other GND pins will rotationally land on GND again, so you'll probably be shorting 5V to GND somewhere on the gumstix board. BITCLK and V_BATT will also be swapped in the case of the audiostix, so you'll also be sticking a 5V supply onto the PXA's BITCLK pin. The good news is that NRESET and GND are swapped, so you should be holding the PXA in reset during this process, which might limit the damage to the CPU somewhat. C |
