I am building gumstix-buildroot release 1574 for a basix 400xm-bt and find that the Bluetooth module does not initialise. It does not respond to any of the serial probes: Starting 32kHz clock...Settled Starting Bluetooth subsystem:Trying baud rate 57600... No response after reset No response from BT module [...snip...] No response from BT module Can't initialize device: Success Everything works fine under release 1161. I recall that some versions of gs-buildroot had an /etc/init.d/S30bluetooth that set or cleared (can't remember) one of the GPIO bits. As I recall, this was said to enable the Bluetooth module. The S30bluetooth file in r1574 has ... stuff ... /sbin/modprobe gumstix_bluetooth /sbin/modprobe proc_gpio echo "AF1 in" >/proc/gpio/GPIO42 echo "AF2 out" >/proc/gpio/GPIO43 echo "AF1 in" >/proc/gpio/GPIO44 echo "AF2 out" >/proc/gpio/GPIO45 ... stuff ... The physical module on the board is Infineon PBA 313/08 1ES4 Can anyone assist? 1574 seems to work with some BT module date codes and not with others. Works fine on mine, but it appears that you and at least a couple of others who have markings similar to yours are in the "not working" camp :-( I'm looking into this to see what's going on. I need to get my hands on one of the offending modules, so it may be a few days before I can work very efficiently. But perhaps you could help me debug from afar :-) Could you send me the output of: cat /proc/gpio/* Do the above for 1574, then afterwards could you verify that your module still works with 1161? Thanks John. Is this from a verdex, connex, or basix? Does your module have a white sticker with the part number or bare metal? From the marking I'm guessing bare metal. Steve - also: in 1161 in /etc/default/bluetooth we have: HCIATTACH_TTY=ttyS3 but in 1574 /etc/init.d/S30bluetooth we have HCIATTACH_TTY=ttyS1 which may be relevant... The r1611 S30bluetooth script has a lot more content than the 1574 version -- starts stuff all the way to pand. Is this going to be put back into head soon? Cheers, David.
