How much current can the motor power pins on the Robostix support before I should start worrying about smoking the traces on the circuit board? I ask because I'm going to use it to control a couple of high-power RC servos (Hitec 5995) and I have been thinking about augmenting the power supply traces with some wires running between the output pins and the battery pins. Also, there's a single row of 4 pins between the serial headers and the Atmel ICSP headers... Is this FFUART? Which pins are which? Gordon is probably the best person to answer that. I think that the production robostix has a separate power and ground plane, so I'm hoping that the traces are reasonably substantial. Is this FFUART? Which pins are which? It's the gumstix console (TTL level) so yes it's FFUART. The pin assignment is as follows: 1 - Ground 2 - TxD (from the gumstix perspective) 3 - VCC5 4 - RxD (from the gumstix perspective) Pin 1 has a small silk screened 1 on the top side of the board. As you know, I use Eagle for daughtercard designs; there is a ULP (length-freq-ri.ulp) that I have used for estimating the max current. I am attaching the output, which shows a max current of 1.55 Amps in each of the traces of concern here. NB-- these are not verified empirically at all, and is best used as a general guide.
