I've started noticing now that the usbnet link between my gumstix
motherboard & linux desktop (or windows/cygwin) freezes after being
active for a few minutes. After this happens, while the desktop still
shows that the usb0 link is active, I can't ping to the gumstix, only
a reboot of the gumstix seems to fix the situation (in this case I
donot have a serial link to the board since I am using the breakout-gs
to connect, so my only option is to reboot, unplugging/replugging the
usb cable doesn't help).
I configure the usb0 link on the gumstix statically using a script
under /etc/init.d/, the script has the following line in it:
ifconfig usb0 192.168.1.2 up
Using usbnet used to work fine for me until sometime back, I've
started seeing this behaviour ever since I started using the bluetooth
external antenna on the gumstix. I don't understand how these 2 could
be related (if at all they are), but in any case this is what I've
Any help about this would be appreciated.
