Yeah - 1574 builds for the smc911x by default, which is the network chip used on the netwifimicrosd board. To change which ethernet driver is loaded, edit the /etc/modules file on your gumstix. Uncomment the smc91x line and comment out the smc911x line. Reboot, and your network chip should be recognized. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

You are right! Thank's for that info. I did what you suggested and ethernet works. I think I won't be the last who will get trapped by this (default-) configuration change. Merry Lutz Am Freitag, 21. Namely, uncomment both of the smc91x and smc911x lines and verify that your network stuff still works? I think that one will fail to load and that one will load successfully. If this is the case, and we see the same behaviour with a netwifimicrosd board, then we could change the default and it would work for both boards. -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |
