Hi Guys, I'm designing a board which connects to a Verdex via the 24 pin flex connector.. I've looked over the Wiki docs and I have several questions which I can't find addressed there. I would appreciate any help that you can offer. 1) Is V_BATT a direct connection to the Verdex's main V_BATT? I.E. can I supply power to the Verdex via this connection? 2) Is there a table or other documentation showing which GPIO's are free? Without the Verdex schematics its difficult to determine which of the GPIO's on the 24 pin connector I can use for other purposes with out conflicting with the main board or other expansion boards. 3) Are the BT_TXD, BT_RXD, BT_CTS and BT_CTS pins a free serial port assuming that I use the non-Bluetooth version of the Verdex? Which serial port does this get mapped to? 4) Whats the purpose of the CLK_32 signal? Is it an output or input? We are going to be using the RTC on the Verdex. V_BATT on the 60-pin and 120 pin connectors are the same as what's plugged into the jack. You should be able to measure continuity with a multimeter between V_BATT on the 60-pin and V_BATT on the 24-pin. > 2) Is there a table or other documentation showing which GPIO's are > free? Which GPIOs are free really depends on which functionality is being used. For example, if you're not using an LCD, then all of the LCD pins are free. Is this a > clock input to the Verdex's RTC? Sorry, I don't know the answer to this. I believe that the verdex has a 32kHz crystal on it. Since it's connected to GPIO-9, it must be coming directly from the processor. Thanks for the answers Dave, I appreciate you spending the time to help me understand things. I figured a few things out that I thought I would share. V_BATT does appear to be a direct connection. The flex cable connector is only rated for 400mA so theres not a lot left for other hardware if you power the board through the 24 pin connector.
