The default shell is ash, which doesn't look in .bashrc. It looks in .profile
There is also some busybox options to control how complicated the prompt can be.
CONFIG_FEATURE_COMMAND_EDITING appears to be enabled by default
CONFIG_FEATURE_SH_FANCY_PROMPT appears to be disabled.
You'll need to enable CONFIG_FEATURE_SH_FANCY_PROMPT for any of the
escape stuff to work.
